Rummaging in my trinket box.... There was such a variety to photograph....

Snake necklace.... It even feels cold to the touch when worn!

Traditional Maharashtrian nose ring ('Nath').... You don't have to get your nose pierced to wear this.....

A rose carved in coral, forms a pendant for a almost 90 year old coral necklace presented to me by a
     96 years old special lady......

                                                Kundan earrings....

Perhaps time's definition of coal is the diamond..... These are not real diamonds but i like to think that they

The pearl is the queen of gems and the gem of queens.

Drops & Webs.

Almost the first sunny morning after the monsoons. Early morning sun, dew drops on leaves, spiders busy doing their stuff, all confident that the thundering rain shower will not wipe them out.

So I dashed out this morning to enjoy it all and photograph it...:-)

                                                                     Liquid pearl.
                                                                                 ~William Shakespeare

When u interfere with the sun playing with the dew drop, the same thing looks different than before.....

Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf.
                                                                                               (Quote by - Rabindranath Tagore)

“The means to gain happiness is to throw out from oneself like a spider in all directions an adhesive web of  love, and to catch in it all that comes”
                                                                                                           ~Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy quotes

Words are like the spider's web: a shelter for the clever ones and a trap for the not-so-clever.

Dark & Lovely.

The Butterfly & Caterpillar below, are the same color. But the caterpillar looks more beautiful than the butterfly, because of its surroundings.

Caterpillars are always considered as clumsy and lumbering. Butterflies are considered as smart and beautiful , and keep flitting  from one beautiful flower to another.

Just goes to show that  beauty is not what you are born with. It is how you live in a particular environment.....

“The caterpillar does all the work but the butterfly gets all the publicity”
George Carlin quotes (American stand-up Comedian, Actor ,Author.b.1937)

“How does one become a butterfly?" she asked. "You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.”

Turtle Walk.

Many wise people have had many interesting things to say about Turtles. These are small pet turtles belonging to a friend. This particular turtle would make a excellent actor or politician...... Every time i went close to zoom in and click it would look up. And i thought it had a brilliant smile.

"Researchers identify turtles by the different patterns on the turtle's shell. It is like a fingerprint - different on every one."
                                      ~ Patrick Thompson

"The turtle makes progress only when he sticks his neck out."
                                                                                                ~James Bryant Conant

Try to be like the turtle - at ease in your own shell.

                                                               Slightly more closer....

Details of the ornaments for the Ganapati

                                                                    A side view.....

This close up was taken with a flash....

The eyes of the Lord are mesmerizing. The art of making these idols is usually passed down    from generation to generation within a family.
