Thorns, Spiders & Other Beautiful Things.

All these photos were taken on my Canon PowerShot A480 point and shoot camera with the Super Macro setting.....

      This kind of mushroom grows on trees....

A variety of Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis....

The ability to blend in as part of the surrounding foliage - but i still managed to click it.

               Red Canna Lily Seed Pods.....

 

             Red Canna Lily in our building garden...

  The seeds can be seen after the pods dry off and crack open....

     Tricky camouflage but I still clicked the feisty spider  trying to avoid my camera....

Pink Periwrinkle in the garden....Very useful plant for Diabetes, anti bacterial, anti-cancer, wound healing, Used as an eye wash , Stomach cramps and High bloodpressure. A multi purpose plant.....

     This fellow was relaxing in his net and i went to the other side to click him to see what he was doing....

                                          It looks as if the spider is doing Bhujangasan....

Crouching Moth, Hidden Photographer.

I found this fellow in my room hiding near the cupboard and as i was approaching it to take some pictures it would just start flying around.....Finally it settled and probably gave me a look saying " What a stupid girl doesn't she realize that she should click the photo now!!!"

Photos have been taken on my Nokia 6303i Classic cellphone....

Monsoon Madness.

June to September is the normal south-west monsoon in Mumbai. At the fag end of September we sometimes get a preview of the north-east monsoon for a few days, after which it disappears to other parts of India leaving Mumbai to its mild "Winters".

But not before it has celebrated with thunder and lightning and overpowering dark clouds.

All pictures clicked from the building terrace on my point & shoot Canon A480 camera...

Sunset.

This was taken from I.I.T's Guesthouse around 6:00 pm on the shores of the Powai Lake....The first picture is taken from a distance, then gradually I zoomed in.....My camera supports up to 14x zoom.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

Encounter with a Moth.

I was reading something n noticed some fluttering around me... Then it stopped and I noticed a Moth trying to find its feet on the carpet.... Looked like it was injured so I gently lifted it n used the other hand to click it.... What resulted are the photographs below...

     What did moths bump into before the electric light bulb was invented? Don't know about the bulb but it certainly bumped into me.....

    Looks like a butterfly with peacock feather design on the wings.... Moth who had a makeover.

      Leave me alone!! Whats all this fuss about???

    Close up of the eye.... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder n that's me!!

Did I just hear you call me a Butterfly??? U think I m page 3?

Adornments.

Rummaging in my trinket box.... There was such a variety to photograph....

                             Snake necklace.... It even feels cold to the touch when worn!

       Traditional Maharashtrian nose ring ('Nath').... You don't have to get your nose pierced to wear this.....

     A rose carved in coral, forms a pendant for a almost 90 year old coral necklace presented to me by a 
     96 years old special lady......

    Perhaps time's definition of coal is the diamond..... These are not real diamonds but i like to think that they

    are.
