Long Exposure Night Shots.

Long-exposure photography or time-exposure photography involves using a long-duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of images while blurring, smearing, or obscuring the moving elements.

 Long exposures are easiest to accomplish in low-light conditions, but can be done in brighter light using specially designed cameras.

 Long-exposure photography is often used in a night-time setting in order to produce a near daytime effect in the photo. By leaving the camera's shutter open for an extended period of time, more light is absorbed, creating a brighter product. If the camera is stationary for the entire period of time that the shutter is open, a very vibrant and clear photograph can be produced.

Taken on my Canon EOS 1100D SLR camera between 19:00 hrs and 19:30 hrs today.

Creeping Night.

Mumbai is having a non existent winter but sunset is still early. There is a huge lake where we stay. In the last few years there has been lot of construction all around the lake. On our side of the lake we have simple, ordinary multistorey buildings which nobody photographs...:-)

Because we have such a fancy skyline on the other side...

I went close to sunset with a tripod n within 15 minutes it got dark as u can see below.

Monsoon Madness.

June to September is the normal south-west monsoon in Mumbai. At the fag end of September we sometimes get a preview of the north-east monsoon for a few days, after which it disappears to other parts of India leaving Mumbai to its mild "Winters".

But not before it has celebrated with thunder and lightning and overpowering dark clouds.

Sunset.

This was taken from I.I.T's Guesthouse around 6:00 pm on the shores of the Powai Lake....The first picture is taken from a distance, then gradually I zoomed in.....My camera supports up to 14x zoom.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

Monsoon Going-ons.....

The Guesthouse at the campus is surrounded by a lot of natural as well as landscaped greenery. Monsoon is a  good time to observe the going-ons. The guesthouse is on the banks of the Powai lake situated between the lake and an internal man-made pond which u see below.

They take care of there own......Torrential rains, stamping humans, wet mud, dogs running around, whipping winds :   and quietly to one side a concerned Ant helps take an injured/ dead relative safely home across the leaf.

Color Me Gold.....!

Living in a high rise has its advantages. There is a cloud movie happening everyday. I watch, enjoy and click......
